The Dinner Party

Erik at the dinner party. What else can I say? Erik is just a ball of adorable when he's all alone and pouty.

I'm sure we've all experienced this before... being in a room full of people... and still feeling overwhelmingly alone? That-- or feeling like every single eye in a room is staring at you and all you can do is sit there and glare right back?

((Warning: rant))

Sigh... society. What's it going to take for us humans to coexist with each other in peace? If only everyone understood that EVERY SINGLE person, no matter how ugly, strange, or sinful they may appear to be, has a SOUL and that EVERY SINGLE person is created in the IMAGE OF GOD... that we are all virtually the same and all capable of the same mistakes and suffering... no doubt we'd treat one another, not only in a HUMANE way, but in a compassionate and loving way... that can ultimately change someone's life.

Our society isn't much different than the society in Erik's day, everybody.

I guess all I'm saying is... don't judge. And I mean this for myself too. God is the only judge, and we need to get it into our heads that a person's heart is what's behind the carnal body. You or I could've been born as ugly as Erik and we'd still be the same soul. My point? Erik's life is the extreme example of how people judge other people based on their appearances... but we all forget that normal people in our every day lives hurt and suffer because they are judged based upon their personalities, looks, color... etc. So... next time you see someone sitting by themselves, pull up a chair.
