however, i do love the musical...the soaring music, the mystery, the romance, and of course the theatre...
the original story took place in a theatrical setting, so i feel that it brings the story to life...
it is so immediate, we live the story right along with the characters - and we can do it over and over again in 'real time'...
but it can never take the place of the original book...leroux was a master storyteller...
