Description
phew. This represents months of work, really. After reading the book several times, one needs more than a mental picture of how everything is laid out. So... I got together with a friend of mine and figured out at least one way Erik's lair could be arranged... and I rather like it like this. If you read any scene in the book that takes place in his lair, I think it matches up with this set up...
But I'm posting this so everyone can give me an A-OK. Once I feel like this is the plan I want to stick with, I can begin long-awaited comic strips and such.
Please comment, and don't be afraid to challenge my ideas... they are merely ideas! I want to make my future Leroux-based drawings as accurate as possible, so I would appreciate criticism and any other ideas you may have. One thing I especially fear is that I don't have the right furniture in some areas... I tried to stay close to the time period... but... I don't know how to set up furniture.
Here are some extra notes:
Erik and Christine can be seen from a bird's eye view (or rather, a rat's?) about to enter the drawing room.
The gray floor you see in the hallway and Erik's bathroom is NOT stone/cave floor. It is gray marble.
The yellow floor in the drawing room represents carpet, as does the red floor in Erik's bedroom and the Louis-Philippe room. The brown floor in the dining room is wood. The pale floor in Christine's bathroom is tile. I should have made square tiles...
And of course, there are secret passageways and such that I don't plan on drawing out. Even I cannot begin to fathom all of Erik's "secrets"....
**UPDATE**: I just added a kitchen. It's tough drawing furniture from a rat's view, but there's a large counter top with a sink, shelves with kitchenware inside of them, and a stove/oven.
